Taking your child to the dentist
At scallywags we promote healthy eating and lifestyle through all of our meal times and activities, we do this by providing healthy, well-balanced meals and snacks and incorporating healthy eating into our play and cooking activities. Our forest school ethos is a way we keep the children active and gaining all the benefit from outdoor learning. We do regular yoga sessions with the children and have a PE teacher once a week with our Pre-school children.
All food is fresh and cooked by Zebedee’s who are sponsored by the Caroline Walker Trust. It provides a healthy balanced diet of which menus are displayed for parents to see. As well as providing a healthy option for the children it is important that the children enjoy their food and mealtime is a pleasant sociable experience for them.
We have a qualified cook who holds a food hygiene certificate Allergies, cultural and religious practices and parent’s preference as well as general dislikes are catered for and alternative menus can be given as well as catering for vegetarians and medical conditions.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are provided daily. We organise meal and snack times so they are a social occasion and so they can develop independence through feeding themselves. We provide children with utensils which are appropriate for the child’s stage of development and their cultural needs
